The FTSE 100 fell on Tuesday morning as European indices tumbled, while Diploma (DPLM) dropped after disappointing annual results.
London’s blue-chip index inched up in early trading before making a U-turn to put it down 0.5%, or 43 points, to 8,066 since open, with France’s Cac 40 losing 1.5% and Germany’s Dax retreating 1.4%.
Industrial-to-healthcare distributor Diploma slumped 5.7% to £42.76 after annual results showed a rare miss in both profits and revenues.
