NEW DELHI: Australian pacer Scott Boland will lead the Prime Minister’s XI bowling attack in a two-day pink-ball match against India at Manuka Oval, Canberra, starting November 30.
This warm-up game is pivotal for both teams as they prepare for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide, which will also be a day-night contest.
Boland, already in Australia’s Test squad, aims to secure his spot in the playing XI for the pink-ball match in Adelaide, especially with Michael Neser sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
The Prime Minister’s XI, assembled with input from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, features a mix of young talent and experienced players.
Led by Jack Edwards, the squad includes Under-19 World Cup winners and emerging stars like Ollie Davies, alongside seasoned campaigners such as former Test opener Matthew Renshaw, who is eager to impress selectors.
For India, the match is a crucial opportunity to adapt to the pink-ball format after nearly three years, with captain Rohit Sharma expected to return following his absence in the series opener.
