NEW DELHI: Jasprit Bumrah turned 31 on Friday as birthday wishes poured in from all quarters for the India pace spearhead.
However, it was his wife, sports anchor Sanjana Ganesan, who stole the show with a playful and sassy Instagram post.
Sanjana shared a photo of herself and their son, Angad, with a sun emoji covering his face. In her caption, she wrote: “Happy birthday to my🦞 and Angad’s 🦁❤️,” keeping it short, sweet, and full of charm.
The endearing message quickly went viral, sparking a flurry of love and admiration from fans.
The couple, who married in a private ceremony in Goa in 2021, welcomed their first child, Angad, in 2023.
Sanjana has consistently shown her support for Bumrah, often sharing heartfelt moments and celebrating his on-field successes.
Speaking of Bumrah’s recent performances, the bowler has been in exceptional form in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His recent eight-wicket haul in the Perth Test led India to a massive 295-run victory.
India vs Australia: How pink ball is different
The win was especially significant for Bumrah as it marked his first match as Indian captain in Australia, stepping in for Rohit Sharma, who missed the match due to the birth of his second child.
India now lead the series 1-0 and is aiming for a third consecutive Border-Gavaskar Trophy win Down Under.
Bumrah also made history on his birthday by becoming the first bowler to take 50 Test wickets in 2024. His 50th wicket came during the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, when he dismissed opener Usman Khawaja for 13.
