The third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy begins in Brisbane on December 14, but the Indian team is still in Adelaide because the pink-ball Test finished well inside three days. So, with the visitors pre-scheduled to fly out on Wednesday (December 11), they utilized their remaining time in the South Australian city with a near full-tilt training session.
AT NET SESSION TODAY
On Tuesday, the batting unit sweated it out in the nets at the Adelaide Oval trying to fix the chinks in their armour. Besides Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Nitish Kumar Reddy, none of the Indian batters have spent considerable time in the middle.

Will Rohit return to the opening slot?
The turns in which the Indian batters practised in the nets on Tuesday was reportedly similar to the batting order in the Adelaide Test, where Rahul and Jaiswal retained their opening slot and Rohit batted at number four. It once again led to discussions whether Rohit will continue to bat in the middle order; he failed miserably at that spot in Adelaide, scoring 3 and 6 in the two innings.

Bumrah skips training
India’s bowling spearhead Bumrah understandably was not present at the net session, as his workload is being managed by the team — especially after he broke down briefly on Day 2 of the Adelaide Test, holding his hamstring and requiring medical attention. However, he recovered and continued bowling normally.
Mohammed Siraj, who is sharing most of the bowling load alongside Bumrah, also skipped the net session on Tuesday.
BRISBANE WEATHER FORECAST FOR DAY 1
Normal match-timing resume from the third Test onwards, after the only pink-ball match of the five-Test series in Adelaide. According to the time zone in the state of Queensland, play begins at 5:50 am IST; and the weather forecast for the opening day (December 14) is not threatening at all, with an odd passing shower and maximum temperature in the early 30s.

The forecast for the rest of the four match-days is almost the same, with partly cloudy skies.
