Fans wearing the Rishabh Pant face masks had a ball while chanting “Rishabh, we love you” during the rain-hit first day of the third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane.
India won the toss and captain Rohit Sharma opted to bowl in overcast conditions, but two rain delays allowed just 13.2 overs in the first session, as Australia openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSwenney took the score to 28 for no loss.

With not much action on the field, the fans danced to the beats of dhol while cheering for their favourite player, Pant.
The second rain delay saw it coming down heavily, leaving puddles on the ground. Play remained suspended at the time this report was published.
Pant, meanwhile, has been entertaining during his batting stints in the series, but not able to contribute with a big knock as his four innings read 37, 1 (in Perth), 21, 28 (Adelaide).
He, however, remains the toast of the Indian fans at a venue where he played a memorable knock of 89 not out to script a thrilling series-clinching win for India during the 2020-21 tour.
That win ended Australia’s unbeaten run at the Gabba since 1988.
Coming back to the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, the five-Test series is level at 1-1. India won the first Test in Perth by 295 runs, and Australia came back to make it even with a 10-wicket triumph in the pink-ball Test at Adelaide.
