NEW DELHI: Cricket has seen its fair share of bizarre dismissals over the years. These moments highlight the unpredictable and sometimes comical nature of the game.
Cricket, being the unpredictable sport that it is, has given fans plenty of laughs through some truly funny dismissals over the years.
These dismissals showcase the lighter side of cricket and are a reminder of the unpredictable, fun, and human element of the game.
A similar dismissal occurred on the first day of the third Test between New Zealand and England at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Saturday.
England captain Ben Stokes won toss and asked the Kiwis to bat first.
New Zealand were 185/3 in the last session of the day with Matthew Potts bowling the 59th over with former captain Kane Williamson on strike.
Potts bowled a length ball angling onto off stump to Williamson who defended it right under his eyes.
But the ball bounced and wriggled back towards the stumps. Williamson in an attempt to stop it, tried to kick it away but the ball went on to hit the stumps, much to the delight of the Englishmen.
Williamson fell for 44 and New Zealand finished the day at 315/9.
