A fired-up Mohammed Siraj knocked over Australia opener Usman Khawaja on Sunday and immediately gestured ‘keep quiet’ to the Australian fans in the crowd, who have been booing the Indian fast bowler ever since his ugly face-off with Travis Head in the second Test at Adelaide.
After Jasprit Bumrah sent back debutant Sam Konstas (8) early in Australia’s second innings, Siraj followed it up with the wicket of Khawaja who made 21 runs. Finding the gap between the left-handed batter’s bat and pad, Siraj, who is employed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Hyderabad, pegged the off-stump back.
