The Indian team has settled in Adelaide for the 2nd Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which will be a day-night match beginning December 6; and captain Rohit Sharma didn’t waste any time to put his pads on and enter the nets to feel the pink ball on his bat.

Rohit, who missed the first Test in Perth due to the birth of his child, joined India midway through the match in the western part of Australia and then played the day-night warm-up game in Canberra.
Batting at number four in that 50-overs-a-side match against the Australian Prime Minister’s XI, Rohit scored just 3 off 11 balls.

Bumrah, who led from the front with a match-haul of 8 wickets in Perth, captained India in the first Test in Rohit’s absence and will now hand over the team’s charge back to him.
India won the first Test by a dominating 295-run margin.
Speculations are rife whether Rohit will open or not in Adelaide, considering that the pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul has done well at the top.
Rahul scored 26 in the first innings of the Perth Test and 77 in the second — adding 201 runs for the opening partnership with Jaiswal, who scored a majestic 161. The duo then put on 75 runs while opening in the practice game.
India Playing XI for Adelaide Test: Big selection headaches for India
It remains to be seen whether India decide to disturb a settled opening combination to let Rohit bat in his usual slot as an opener or the skipper moves himself to the middle order.
Rohit hasn’t been in form in red-ball cricket lately. Before flying to Australia, he scored just 91 runs in six innings of the three-Test series at home against New Zealand, which India lost 0-3.
