NEW DELHI: Legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara was on Saturday in attendance for the third India vs Australia Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.
On a rain-marred opening day where only 13.2 overs were possible, Sara’s presence stole the show amid not much of a contest between the bat and the ball.
Sara was seen cheering for the Indian team in the stands with former cricketers Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh sitting behind her.
Pictures of Sara instantly created a buzz on social media with fans highlighting her love for the sport.
Before the start of play, Sara also posed a small video on her Instagram before entering the Gabba.
Australia finished the day on 28 for no loss with Usman Khawaja 19 not out and Nathan McSweeney on four after India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field.
Continuous downpour that led to a washout caused a big disappointment for the huge crowd that had filed into the Gabba.
After rain forced early stumps on Day 1, play is scheduled to begin 30 minutes earlier for the remaining four days with a minimum of 98 overs to be bowled each day.
However there is more rain predicted early next week but the forecast is better for Sunday.
Earlier, Australia made one change, with speedster Josh Hazlewood back from a side strain in place of Scott Boland.
India also brought in spinner Ravindra Jadeja for Ravichandran Ashwin, while Akash Deep replaced fast bowler Harshit Rana.
The five-match BGT series is locked at one win apiece after India won the first Test in Perth, before Australia bounced back to claim victory in Adelaide.
