GEURS 2025 Ranking Methodology Explained
The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) is unique in being the only ranking of the world’s top 250 universities exclusively based on employers’ direct assessments of graduate employability. Its methodology involves a multi-step process designed to provide a thorough evaluation of universities’ abilities to prepare students for the workforce. Below is a detailed breakdown of the methodology:
Employer Insights
The process begins with a survey where employers worldwide share their insights on the challenges faced in future training and their expectations from higher education institutions. These responses form the foundation for understanding industry needs and aligning university performance with employability metrics.
Voting Process
In the next phase, employers are asked to vote for universities based on their employability performance. Over 1,000 universities worldwide are evaluated, and only qualified international managers participate. Each respondent, vetted for their influence in the recruitment process, is given up to 10 votes, ensuring a comprehensive and credible selection process.
University Selection
The universities with the highest overall votes are included in the annual GEURS Top 250 Employability Ranking. This step reflects the collective global opinion of employers about which institutions best prepare students for the demands of the job market.
Performance Justification
Once the universities are selected, voters provide justifications for their choices. They apply up to six criteria from a pool of 35 suggested categories, offering a detailed rationale for their rankings.
